TECH INFORMATION:

Currently I am photographing with a Nikon Z6ii, a Nikon D850, and a Sony RX100 VI primarily as well as my iPhone. I have used a variety of digital cameras and will probably be using more Sony Cameras in the future. I also used a Nikon D3 up until March 2017 when its shutter finally broke ( went out on top, the last day I was in Arizona working on my Cactus League Series). I started using digital cameras around 2004 with a point and shoot Canon and then a Nikon D70.

Film…I have always outsourced my color film but I have always hand-processed my black and white film myself. Over the years its has been several thousand rolls, usually between four and eight rolls at a time, and all to archival standards. Early on I used mostly Kodak Plus-X and later moved to Kodak’s T-Max 400. Most City Series images were captured with a Leica M4P, most Pasadena PD Series images were captured with Nikon F. I used a pair of Nikon FM2 for a lot of The Cactus League Series and I used a Nikon F5 after that. Most of my Medium Format images were made with a Mamiya 7 II which I still photograph with.

Most film negatives can still printed on silver gelatin paper in a traditional darkroom, although as I digitize my negative I am producing digital prints from my negative archives. Vintage prints were often on Kodak Elite, and Oriental Seagull, while most contemporary prints are on ADOX MCC 110 Premium Glossy paper processed to archival standards. I use a Durst Mulitgraph Laborator 1200 Enlarger now. My in-house digital prints are printed on an Epson P600 and almost all are exclusively on Hahnemühle Photo Papers. Digital Art Studio in Atlanta prints and frames the majority of my larger prints, most with an image size of 16” x 24” in editions of 9.

Prints are usually window matted in 4 ply Westminster Bright White boards and mounted with photo corners. Most 35mm negatives are printed full frame on 11” x 14” paper or 16” x 20” paper. Some images, especially from Medium Format negatives can also be printed on 20” x 24” paper. Digital images are printed on 13” x 19” and 17” x 22” papers. Editions for most images are limited to 27 for each paper size. Many images do not get printed to their full edition limit due to time and resources; please contact me directly for any questions regarding current edition size and specific details of an image.
